Lilly LOVED being in Utah with her Berbert grandparents and Aunt "Nana." Grama and Grampa's house is basically a goldmine of toys, and she had plenty of willing playmates who showered her with love and attention. I think if we had let her, she would have stayed there and sent us back home on our own. I think if we could have shirked our work and other responsibilities, we would have stayed, too.
Lilly has done a lot of traveling in her first two years, and she has become a great little travel companion. On the flight to Utah she watched Frosty the Snowman, snacked and colored, and I actually got to read a book during a flight for the first time since she was born!

We knew that our ten days were going to fly by, so we tried to fit a lot of fun into each one. On one of our first mornings we went downtown to meet Nana for Indian food and pay a visit to the SLC Children's Museum.

Another night, we went to dinner and Zoo Lights as a family. Lilly borrowed Nana's hat for the drive down.
Lilly, as usual, didn't want to get too close to any of the big scary animals. . .
She was, however, VERY excited about this giant tarantula in the insect case. After seeing all the other animals, she declared, "I like that one!"

And she was excited to ride the train.
We had a lot of fun at home getting ready for Christmas. We all ate way more sugar than we should have.
Once the snow started falling it never seemed to stop. It was a treat for us, since Texas doesn't see snow very often. That said, it was nice to retreat back to warmer weather before the inversion hit.
Grandpa had to work many of the days, but when he got home he would keep Lilly entertained for hours.
They found all kinds of things to play with around the house like remote control cars and Russian nesting dolls.
And they were both pretty excited about the train tracks set up around the Christmas tree.
On our last day in Utah, Grandpa drove home from work during lunch, he said he couldn't miss his last chance to have Afternoon Tea with his granddaughter.
Then just like that our time was up, and we had to head home.
So, for now, we're counting down the days until my parents come to Austin.
(And having our tea parties via skype.)

So cute and so fun.
