Lilly's Book of the Month: Edwina, The Dinosaur Who Didn't Know She Was Extinct

Yep, Mo Willems has done it again. Lilly is OBSESSED with this book. We've hung onto this one a couple extra weeks, and she still asks everyday to read "Weena!"

Edwina is the friendly neighborhood dinosaur who plays with all the kids and bakes delicious chocolate chip cookies. Basically, everyone loves Edwina . . .except for Reginald Von Hoobie-Doobie. He's sort of the school know-it-all, and he sets out to prove that dinosaurs are extinct. Unfortunately, everybody is too busy eating cookies and having fun to pay attention to his rants. That is, everybody except Edwina. . .

If you haven't read this with your toddler, you definitely should, if only for the pure joy of getting to say Reginald Von Hoobie-Doobie.

Honorable Mentions:
  • Emma Kate by Patricia Polacco
  • Arabella Miller's Tiny Caterpillar by Clare Jarrett
  • Blackout by John Rocco

  1. We've read this one- and I LOVED it. I'm not sure how Sophia felt (I think she was about 6 months old at the time), but I found it hilarious. I guess me and your 2 year old have similar taste :D
