It seems that we are a little ahead of the seasons here in Texas, as we pretty much skipped winter and headed straight into spring. It has been wonderful, but I'm getting a little worried about August, because the weather here at the end of March has been in the high 80s, which is plenty warm for me. Anyway, we have been very grateful this year for all the rain we've been getting, and the trees and grass and wildflowers are growing like crazy thanks to the increase in precipitation.
We headed out this morning to snap some pictures of our first experience with Texas bluebonnets. To me, they are the icing on this already perfect spring cake. The bluebonnets grow all over the place here, and this particular field is right across from our church. I've been eyeing it for a couple weeks, and just waiting for a chance to capture some of its natural beauty. Today was the day!

Absolutely beautiful!!! Lupines have always been my favorite flower- probably because I was born in Texas during the spring (it's the state flower too right?). Lilly looks so adorable in the field of lupines! I hope one day to be in Texas again to experience this (I was only 2 wks old when my parents moved back to MI)!
