We went to Utah for Thanksgiving and my sister's wedding. Mostly for the wedding. It was great to see so many family members, and meet a lot of new ones. We enjoyed getting a little taste of what Fall feels like outside of Texas, but I hear we left just in time because today the weather got shingle-tearing, power-outage ugly. Drew could only come for a couple days, so I had the pleasure of flying alone with Lilly. Luckily she did surprisingly well both ways. And while time with family was great, I also enjoyed some alone time shopping at H&M and watching Breaking Dawn (embarrassing, I know). Also, Lilly woke up several times a night the whole time and screamed like she was dying unless I nursed her. I guess my plan to wean her at 1 year may not end up working out. Speaking of working out, I haven't been. Maybe I better start because I'm already increasing my chocolate consumption in preparation for the holidays. Happy 1st day of December!
Lilly enjoyed her own seat on the direct flight to Utah. We got moved to the 2 empty bulkhead seats, and I was so grateful for the extra room. Then we had a short car ride to my parents. All in all our travel time was pretty short considering the distance we traveled.
We went to lunch at our favorite Japanese restaurant, Kyoto's, and Lilly looked so grown-up drinking from her own cup! She also loved eating the tofu from everyone's miso soup.
We had thanksgiving with our new brother-in-law Tim's family at a nearby church building. His mom cooked a great meal and everyone enjoyed playing in the gym all day. We loved meeting the McClain's and spending time with the Berbert extended family!
My sister's wedding was wonderful! It brought back so many fond memories of my own wedding day. What a great time of life that was. But it's amazing how much more I love my husband now, 2 1/2 years later. Our marriage just keeps getting better with time.
Best picture of the trip. . .
Sometimes she freaks out a little when I'm not the one holding her.
In between the wedding and the reception we squeezed in the Wilson Family Thanksgiving. Cause what's better than having Thanksgiving twice?!
It was great to finally meet Archie. He is impossibly adorable.
Can't wait to see all our fun siblings again at Christmas!
Then it was party time! Lilly went to sleep in the mother's room halfway through the reception. It was so nice to be able to enjoy food and dancing, even to help clean up, without a baby in tow.
We celebrated Lilly's birthday again!
And she got to see her old friend Lincoln!
My dad set up the Christmas tree before we left, and Lilly loved the lights!
Then it was time to fly home, and I think it's safe to say we both earned these wings. So glad there were nice people around us that smiled and entertained Lilly for most of the flight!
Your posts are always so fun to read and look at- want to do my UT visit post for me? Can't wait to see you again soon!
