Lilly's past month has been packed with trips, and she has adjusted really well to all the traveling and time changes. She is pretty much a pro at traveling now! Counting airport stops, she has now been to Texas, Colorado, Missouri, California and Hawaii, in addition to Utah. Currently we are in Hawaii visiting her Great-Grandma and she is loving all the attention and daily swimming time. Lilly is getting so big and weighs in at 20 lbs now! Good thing she doesn't like being carried around much.
Lilly's Favorite Things Right Now:
- Moving. All over. All the time. A few days after she turned 7 months old she gave up the army crawl and found out that hands and knees is way faster. She is a great little crawler and cruiser now and can get into everything. She also loves to climb stairs, but hasn't figured out how to go down them. Luckily she doesn't try--she'll crawl just to the edge and then sit up and go the other way or call for help.
- Swimming. She does great in the water and isn't afraid to get splashed in the face (although she doesn't really like when it happens).
- Getting what she wants. Our quiet little baby is turning into a very assertive toddler. She still doesn't cry much, but she is very vocal when she wants something. She has recently switched from really high-pitched squeals to really low-pitched growls.
- Babies. Lilly loves other babies and children and gets excited and talkative when she sees them! She really just loves people in general and wants everyone to say hello to her. She pretty much tries to talk to anything with a face on it- dolls, pillows, pictures, etc.
- Using her hands. She's getting better at using her thumb and forefinger to pick up food. She's really good at picking up the smallest pieces of lint, paper (whatever she finds on the floor) and trying to eat them. Looks like I'm going to be vacuuming a lot.
- Getting ready to walk! When she chooses to, she can stand and balance for a few seconds, but usually she just squats down quickly so she can crawl to her next destination. The other day she actually tried it on her own for the first time! I was laying on the floor by her and she used me to stand up like she always does, but then she let go! She stood on her own for a couple seconds with a big smile and then started laughing and sat back down. Silly Lilly.
she is so cute!! This stage is sure fun, although a lot harder to get things done! I'm excited to see you in a couple of weeks!
ReplyDeleteI like her muumuu! She has great teeth too! Isn't is so funny that babies love other babies so much! Archie laughs and giggles at my friends' babies too! That will be fun when she starts full on walking!
ReplyDeleteBonnie- I can't wait for our get together!
ReplyDeleteErika- Lilly will be running around by the time you meet her! And she will love meeting Archie. Hopefully he likes her, too. She's already made a couple boys cry because she tries to hug them or pull out their pacifier. I love that babies seem to gravitate toward each other.
