Roseola

Last week Lilly was sick for the first time. She was one sad baby. On Sunday night the fever struck, and she spent Monday and Tuesday on Motrin and Tylenol. She refused to eat solids and just nursed, and she wanted to be held most of the time. She had happy moments when the medicine was helping, but she was not herself. On Wednesday the fever had disappeared, but she still woke up grumpy. That afternoon she started breaking out in rash. We thought maybe it was heat rash since it had been pretty hot and she had the fever, but by the next day it was all over her torso, neck and head. That's when we put two and two together. Roseola. It's pretty common and mostly benign, but we were pretty excited when Lilly finally woke up happy and healthy on Friday. The rash was mostly gone on Saturday and she is back to her cheerful, easy-going, independent self.

Thank goodness! We sure missed her last week.
