Lilly's 1st Trip

After Father's day dinner we headed to the airport for our first family trip! We traveled together to our soon to be home town of Austin to look for our first house. It was all business, but we still had a lot of fun! Lilly was such a good sport on both plane rides and during two long days of house showings. Our agent said he'd never seen such a good 7 month old.

Lilly fell asleep on the way to the airport and was woken up when I had to carry her through security. She wasn't sure what to think about this strange new place . . .

We rode the moving walkway and Lilly made friends with the little girl in front of us. . .

Our flight was delayed by an hour, so we spent some time playing in the airport. . .

"Are we leaving yet?"

"I want to fly!"

Lilly promptly fell asleep after the plane took off and slept through the whole flight, baggage claim, car rental, drive to the hotel, and transfer to the pack n play. So a few hours later she was happy, refreshed and ready to get out in the heat and humidity for our house search. . .

The next couple days flew by. We spent a lot of time in the car, and I didn't stop to take any pictures.

We finally relaxed a little on our last night and drove down to Austin to see the University of Texas where Drew will be getting his PhD.

Back at the hotel, we lay down lots of blankets for Lilly to play on, but she made sure to crawl away from all of them. She is all over the place now and can get herself pretty much anywhere she wants. 

Here's where we found her at one point. . .

"Hey, mom!"

"You caught me!"

The next morning we had to wake up and drive to the airport really early. Lilly stayed asleep until she got woken up at security again. She did really well on the flight, and fell asleep when we were getting ready to land. . .

We got home, showered and unpacked. Then we all took a long nap.

(And in case you were wondering, the house hunt went well and we put an offer in yesterday. We're hoping negotiations work out and we have a home to move to in August!)
