11 months!

Lilly turned 11 months old yesterday, and we were having so much fun with our visitors that I completely forgot about it! Luckily we took some cute photos at the park the day before, so I'm just going to use those as her 11 month photo shoot. It's hard to believe she'll be one in another month, and yet it feels like she has been with us forever. I am amazed each day at her growing capacity to learn and understand. And I'm always impressed by her willingness to share and desire to be obedient (most of the time).
We really got lucky with this one.

Lilly at 11 months:

Eats. . .
Pretty well, but has gotten more picky. She loves yogurt and cheese and crackers and peas. She feeds herself finger foods well, but also lets us spoon feed her. She's messy, but not intentionally. She breastfeeds at night (bedtime and middle of the night) and in the morning, and then I just feed her on demand during the day, which is usually once.

Sleeps. . .
Well, most of the time. She still wakes up during the night, but nurses and goes right back to sleep. She is transitioning to one nap, and usually needs one and a half. If she wakes up around 7 she takes a morning catnap and a later afternoon nap, if she sleeps until 8 she takes one long nap after lunch.

Plays. . .
Lilly loves being outdoors, and she loves making friends. We often go to the park twice a day. She is super social and will try to hug and kiss other babies or hold their hands. She also plays well on her own. She is really good at going up and down the stairs now, and she loves to push her toy hippo around. Her favorite books are the lift-the-flap ones or ones with different textures to feel. Lately, she has been practicing walking backwards and stomping her feet. She can also flip light switches up and down, and likes to flush the toilet. Her favorite game is unplugging the vacuum while I'm using it. To be fair, she always tries to plug it back in for me, but she hasn't mastered that skill yet. She has figured out what things are for, and tries to put her feet in our shoes and hats on our heads and our cell phones to her ears. She is also starting to imitate more sounds and speaks some adorable baby language we adults don't understand, but that includes what sounds a lot like "mom," "dada," "bye" and "hi." Lilly is still my little scientist, she always seems to be examining things and running her own little experiments to figure out how they work.

Looks. . .
A little more lean. When I see her younger pictures I can't believe how round she used to be. She has 6 teeth, 2 bottom and 4 top. Her hair is growing in steadily, but very slowly. Her eyes are turning into a greenish-hazel color. She loves to smile and sometimes snorts when she is excited. Drew loves this.
Anyway, take a look for yourself. . .

  2. How fun to have the parents and Jacob visit! That pizza is ridiculous! Lilly is getting more and more beautiful! I can't believe how grown up she is. That last photo of you tossing Lilly in the air is a great shot- so fun!
