Update

In case you were wondering. . .

During the last week Lilly has:
  • Met her new pediatrician, Dr. Cavanagh, for her 9 month well-check. She was 20.5 lbs and 28.5 inches tall. All the walking she's been doing is slowing down her weight gain, but she's still got plenty of rolls.
  • Started standing up from the ground, no more crawling to a wall, couch, toy, etc. for assistance!
  • Finally decided to try "speaking." Drew loves hearing her say "dada." I love hearing her say something besides "Aah."
  • Learned the power of choice. She likes to scream when she doesn't get what she wants (my cell phone). And she likes to choose what she eats. If I'm feeding her something that's not on her tray, she will point at what she wants next. Yogurt, yogurt, sippy cup, yogurt. Drew tried to trick her into taking bites of veggies when she wanted yogurt, so she started waiting until she could see which container he scooped out of! Don't worry, she does still eat her veggies.
  • Picked up her own version of the sign for "done." She will wave her hand back and forth when she is full and wants to get out of her high chair.
  • Started dressing herself. Not really, but today while I was doing the laundry, she got one of her shirts out of the basket and put it over her head! It was probably an accident, but I was really impressed.
  • Been stacking rings, containers and blocks. She can only put one block on top of another and then the 3rd block knocks the whole stack down, but it's still fun.
  •  Cut another tooth! Top center left. The top center right is about to break through, too. Then what will she want for Christmas?!
