Christmas 2013 was one for the books. There was lots of family, lots of snow, and an extra abundance of craziness. The first week was rather intense for everyone: a truck flipped into a ditch, a middle of the night accident on the highway, a stuck parking brake when we were already late to church, sick babies, colds, vomiting, and, as we were giving thanks that no one had been hurt or injured, the unexpected passing of Drew's grandmother. BUT. . .
As I look back at our 2 week stay, those things are not at the forefront of my mind. I remember the sound of all the cousins playing, over-indulging on chocolate and cookies in the kitchen, Henry meeting his great-great-grandma, playing Greed and The Great Dalmudi, late night chats, family caroling, Christmas tree finding, ornaments, lights and lots of love. Christmas is a time best spent with family, and I've never felt more grateful for mine.
Of course, I won't complain if Christmas 2014 is slightly less eventful. :)
