Lilly Videos

VIDEO!!! I've been meaning to add some video clips to my monthly updates and always forget, so here are a couple fun ones from the summer . . .

Lilly did a lot of swimming this summer, and about midway through the season she got really excited about "diving under". She was super proud of herself! I often had to make her take a break because I was worried she wasn't staying above water long enough to get enough oxygen!

A month ago, Lilly overheard me talking to a friend about gymnastics and dance classes, and she has been obsessed with the idea of gymnastics ever since. (She still loves ballet, too.) We're not ready to put her in actual classes yet, but we let her watch videos on youtube and she loves to copy them. She was really interested in the balance beam, and decided to use a chair to practice her dismount. I also showed her a how-to video on somersaults, and in the subsequent days she would ask to watch it again and then try to copy it. She went from just sort of falling forward and to the side to actually doing a pretty good somersault. I was really proud of her, because this was something she really wanted to learn and took the initiative to teach herself!
