| Where did the summer go??? August seemed to fly by. We kept super busy prepping for the baby and having fun with both local friends and out of town visitors. I feel like I've been packing my schedule with all the stuff that I want/need to do before the baby comes and sucks the life out of me. Lilly is getting close to being 3 and she talks about it all the time. She keeps talking about her birthday party, so I guess I have to plan one? She also likes to tell me that she is "big AND little." She likes to have tea parties, dance around the living room, and practice somersaults. After reading The Twelve Dancing Princesses, she started dancing with her eyes closed to imitate the princesses who dance in their sleep. It's cute, even though she ends up looking like a little crazy person or Napoleon Dynamite. She also loves watching "Sally," otherwise known as the movie Wee Sing Together, which was a childhood favorite of mine. It's basically a lot of singing. Lilly is also EXTREMELY attached to me right now, and she doesn't want Drew to help her with anything. One night we had a talk: "Lilly, you know when the baby comes you might have to let Daddy help you sometimes?" "Yeah, but not yet! The baby's not here yet."So true, Lilly. And I've definitely been making the most of our time together. We read and cuddle a lot. We talk and play. I think we both know that things will be changing soon, and neither of us feels totally prepared. I thought it would be fun the other day to ask Lilly about her favorite things, and this is what I got:
My favorite food is: ice cream
My favorite color is: blue
My favorite place to go is: the jumping place
My favorite book is: the princess book-snow white
When I grow up I want to be: a scary monster or a dragon
My favorite song is: the temple one
My favorite scripture story is: the lion one
One of my favorite things to do is: play cinderella
If I could visit anywhere in the world it would be: grandma's house
Now on to some pictures . . . |
| Daddy drew grass and a flower for her to put her princess sticker on, and then she decided to copy it. |
