Oh, Lilly. Sometimes I wish I could freeze time for a while and hold onto this age, not forever, but for a little longer than it is going to last. At 14 months you are joyful, independent and fairly low-maintenance. You sleep well and eat (reasonably) well, and you aren't too loud or rambunctious. You can't ask me questions or talk incessantly, and you have no school, lessons or practices to be driven to. And there is still only one of you. I'm feeling ready and excited for more little bodies in this house, but I know I will look back with fondness at this time we had together. Just you and me, and a whole lot of silliness.
Lilly Facts:
- Got her 1st two molars on top!
- Loves waffles, green smoothies, blueberries and peanut butter toast.
- Can feed herself with a spoon and stay pretty clean.
- SLEEPS! From 8 p.m.-8 a.m. I usually wake up around 8 and find her playing quietly with her stuffed animals in her crib. She naps for 2-3 hours in the afternoon, and I get to do lots of reading!
- Plays happily by herself (for as long as I neglect, I mean, LET her). She loves pushing around her doll stroller, figuring out her shape sorter and playing with her Legos. Plays with her kitchen and pretends to eat the play food. At night she puts her baby dolls in their cradle and rocks them.
- Started repeating more sounds, and learned how to bark like a dog!
- Likes to try to put my shoes on my feet, brush my teeth and feed me.
- Spent last night spinning around in circles and then trying to run. Later decided to revert back to crawling and laying on the floor for awhile.
- Thinks it's fun to walk between our legs when we're standing up.
- LOVES her Daddy and will often choose to have him put her to sleep. Plus he has all the fun toys! (see below)
Lilly found this chain Drew was using to tie his helmet to his bike and decided it would make a great accessory. . .
She also likes Drew's new gloves and Playstation controllers. She was probably complaining here because he wouldn't give her the 4th one. I thought we could play Just Dance and she would be content with 2 controllers (one for each hand), but she wanted ALL of them.
Oh my gosh THAT FACE!! Lilly is such a doll. Sounds like a super fun age!
