6 months!

We made it half a year! I can hardly believe it. Last week we saw Lilly's pediatrician for her well check. Lilly weighed 17 lbs 10 oz and is just as healthy as can be (except for a runny nose for the past week that seems to be gone now). She is still a great sleeper and very sweet, but she is also very active and assertive. She is getting more and more rambunctious and has the highest pitched squeals I've ever heard. We love watching her learn and seeing her yearning to explore the world. You can watch her little eyes and see the wheels turning behind them. She's just trying to figure everything out. Also, I saw her roll to the right for the first time this week. Our daughter is finally an ambi-turner!

Lilly's favorite things right now:
  • Standing (holding onto something). She can't get enough of it, but that means we have to sit by her constantly in case she starts to tip over.
  • Bath time with Dad! Sometimes she cries when he takes her out of the water because she wants to keep playing.
  • Eating in her new Ikea highchair. The Bumbo days were short-lived for us.
  • Water. We let her take little sips from a cup at mealtime and she loves it. When she sees me with a glass of water she will grab it and bring it to her mouth for a drink. Kind of silly, but really cute.
  • Her Bedtime Routine: Bathe, eat, read scriptures (play with the bookmark), pray, read 'Goodnight Moon', relax in mom's arms with a pacifier while she sings a song or two and then fall asleep soundlessly until the morning. (Okay, maybe this is OUR favorite thing right now)
  • Lunging forward from a sitting position to all fours, and then pushing herself back to a sitting position. I'm just waiting for her to take off one of these times. . . She's also good at rotating around on her stomach.
  • Flapping her arms against her belly when she's excited
  • Raising her arms up and dropping/throwing whatever she's holding, especially if she gets to watch someone pick it back up over and over and over again. She also likes to watch her hands as she transfers an object between them.
  • Making strange noises with her tongue. Also making consonant sounds like "mum", "ba", and "ga".
  • Having Mom AND Dad home almost all the time! Sometimes she gets really clingy, but it's so cute to see her reaching up for you with her tiny little arms!

Raawr!

Just kidding!

More standing!

Smiling at Daddy!
