Utah

While in the process of packing and selling our home, we found a nice house to rent in Camas, WA, but it wasn't available until April 1st, and Drew was scheduled to start work March 1st. We decided to send him ahead to live in an Airbnb in Vancouver, WA for a month, while the kids and I spent a few weeks in Utah at my parents' house. Thanks to remote school, they were able to continue their studies through their Maryland schools, while getting to spend time with their grandparents.

We spent a lot of time enjoying the outdoors, jumping on the trampoline, playing at the park, going for walks, sledding, ice skating, etc. We ate lots of yummy foods, celebrated my Mom's birthday, and got to visit my Grandpa Berbert who recently moved to a new assisted living home in Utah.

It was weird at first not to be working, but it was also incredible to feel unstressed for the first time in years. I started doing daily yoga again, and got to spend more time with the kids and help Henry with his schoolwork. Plus having gotten both of my Covid vaccine doses in Maryland, I was starting to feel the weight and anxiety of the pandemic lifting for the first time in a year, and the kids and I also got our first haircuts in over a year! It felt like the beginnings of a fresh new start for all of us.
