In August we enjoyed our last few weeks of summer with a surprising amount of rain, and a visit from Grandma Berbert, of whom I somehow took no pictures. (I've been really bad at taking pictures of late, but I'm sort of okay with that?) I worked a lot while she was here to make up for my lack of shifts while Drew was gone, and the kids loved having Grandma here to play with everyday.
It was also the month of strep throat. Henry started it off in July, and passed it on to Lilly. Lilly went through THREE rounds of TEN DAYS of progressively stronger antibiotics. All the throat swabs were rough, and each medication tasted worse than the last, but she took it all with minimal complaints, and we were so relieved when her final rapid strep came back negative. I think we had run out of antibiotics to try at that point!
Needless to say, we were THRILLED to find out that Drew would be returning sooner than planned. It turns out office work is not for him after all, and he has a dissertation to finish, so back to the lab! His timing was perfect because he came home in time to see Lilly off to Kindergarten!
Lilly is loving school! And it has been a surprisingly smooth transition for all of us. Henry and I have been enjoying a lot of one on one time, and I'm really glad, because I love the time I get to spend with this crazy little guy. He'll be three soon, and he's definitely acting his age. He's so fun, and he keeps us all laughing with his lovable weirdness.
So long summer!
I've got my pumpkin spice candle burning and I'm ready for fall!
