The rest of June . . .

Henry got to attend a little summer camp that my friend's kids put together for ages 2-4. It was twice a week for a couple hours, and he LOVED it! He used to beg to go to school every time we dropped off Lilly, so he was thrilled to finally get his shot. He didn't even glance back at me as he ran in, and beamed proudly when he displayed his creations on the way out.
I'm really loving this little "big boy" of mine.

Lilly wanted to get in on the crafting, too, so I helped her put together this silly hat according to her specifications. Side note: This girl impresses me every single day. I'm pretty sure she's already smarter, cooler and more responsible at age 5 than I may ever be. Maybe when I grow up I can be like Lilly. :)

And it wouldn't be summer in Austin without an excessive amount of splash pad visits. It's simply too hot for the normal park, plus, adding water is equivalent to adding fun as far as I'm concerned.

We also like to live at the library during the summer, filling our book bag to bursting, collecting summer reading program prizes and checking out fun music and puppet shows. Did I mention our visits usually include a stop at the nearby donut shop, and that the library is air conditioned to a temperature that accommodates the quintessential librarian's cardigan? It's no wonder we are all happy to visit.

In other good news, we have a new pet spider. This one is bigger than our last one, but it lives outside instead of in our guest bathroom, so if it ever dies in the process of having a billion babies, said babies won't be found peppering the bathroom wall and subsequently annihilated by my husband while I'm at work. Also, this one spins this cool mat for itself in the middle of its web and has what appear to be seizures when upset.
Spiders eat bugs, spin pretty webs and keep to themselves, so call me crazy, but I'm convinced they make terribly good house "pets."

We also had some terribly good house guests come to visit for a couple days. We were having such a great time I didn't even think to get my phone out and take some pictures, but the kids loved having their Grammie and Grandpa Wilson in town! We also got to play with their Tack cousins, whom the grandparents drove up from San Antonio for a day. You'd think with a 1:1 ratio of adults to children it would be easy, but these 4 kept us on our toes with their nonstop energy and shenanigans. It was so much fun!
