This year the kids and I headed to Hawaii sans Drew. He was pretty heartbroken, but his schedule just wouldn't allow it. (Good news, he's gearing up to graduate in December!!!)
We spent two wonderful weeks enjoying perfect weather, swimming all day and eating an excessive amount of shave ice, needless to say, it flew by.
I was a little nervous about the long flights, but the kids were great little travelers (as usual).
Our 2nd flight was delayed, so we got to play in this fun little kids zone in the San Francisco airport. The kids thought this simulated tornado was pretty neat.
We wasted no time getting to the beach.
And visiting some dolphins.
We also spent hours every day playing in the pool, and relaxing at Tutu's house.
We visited the Bishop Museum to learn a little about Hawaiian history, and the kids really enjoyed the science center, too.
Here's Lilly the Happy Face Spider (They are only found in Hawaii!)
Henry loves his Tutu!
We went to Sea Life Park with Aunt Michele, and she and Lilly got to swim with a dolphin!
Aunty Lissa took the kids to the Fun Factory, per Lilly's request.
And no trip to Hawaii would be complete without a trip to Waiola Shave Ice!
We took some pictures at Makapuu Beach. Cause it's pretty.
More swimming!!!
And Grandma and Grandpa arrived for our second week . . .
And we went hiking together at Makapuu Lighthouse.
We got treated to lots of good food.
Went to the Farmer's Market for fresh papaya, and other treats. . .
Played at the beach some more.
And we even got to see Aunt Amanda for a couple days!!! The kids LOVED having so many people around to spoil them. :)
One evening they sold guava punch with their little friend, Ellie. It was super cute.
And we celebrated Tutu's 88th birthday!
On our last day, we braved the crowds and the south swell and visited Waikiki.
Saying goodbye and heading home is always hard.
Especially for the kids, because everyone wants a picture with them. ;)
But seriously, it was really hard to leave, even though we were excited to fly home to Drew!
Now to get over the jet lag. And start planning for our next visit. :)
