Mid-December we hit the road. It was our first road trip with the kids and it had it's highs and lows, but it was mostly good. Our adventures included snowstorms, flooded highways, a 4 hour stay in what was likely the worst inn in America, lost keys and more, but we made it there (and back!) and we did it together.
After getting barely a hint of snow, we had an unseasonably warm stay in Michigan and the greenest Christmas ever. So there was no snowman building or sledding, but we found lots of other fun to be had and family to share it with. And at just shy of two weeks, it was a nice long break from work and chores, and just the reboot we needed before heading into the new year.
