Easter

Happy Belated Easter! We had a great Easter-week here at the Tack home, especially Lilly who is at the best age for holidays! She is old enough now to understand and anticipate all the fun, and young enough that it's all still new and thrilling.
During the week, we enjoyed Easter egg dyeing, learning about Jesus with a daily scripture and song countdown, and making yummy treats like marshmallow eggs and bird's nests. Lilly was super excited for egg hunts this year, and she got to do two, one at her preschool party and one on Saturday night with some friends from church. It was a marvelous Easter Eve, the beautiful skies and weather and park made everything seem glowing and illuminated and alive. It was glorious, and a perfect lead-in to the celebration of Christ's resurrection on Easter Sunday.
The kids woke up on the day of and dug into their Easter baskets, and we had just enough time for these marshmallow "empty tomb" rolls before heading to 9 a.m. church. We spent the afternoon cooking, going on Easter egg hunts in the backyard (organized by Lilly), and overdosing on chocolate and sugar. Easter was especially special this year, because Lilly gave her first talk in Primary! She did a wonderful job talking about her love for her family, and sharing her sweet and developing testimony that Heavenly Father gave her a family to help her return to Him and that Jesus made it possible to be with her family forever. She is a beautiful girl inside and out, and I'm so glad she's a part of our family. Of course we love Henry, too, but who wouldn't with that sweet little grin of his?
