Hawaii: At the Beach

Lilly and I got to spend 2 weeks relaxing in paradise, eating shaved ice, building sandcastles, and basically getting spoiled. Lilly got lots of attention from family, and really enjoyed being everyone's favorite playmate. I really enjoyed getting 2 weeks of free nanny service, reading for hours at a time, and eating lots of food that I didn't have to prepare.
Lilly was a great little travel companion, and I felt so grateful for her on the long flights and with the 5 hour time difference. She did a great job adjusting to all the changes! The weather was perfect, sunny with the occasional shower and warm but not too hot (unlike our Texas weather). In the end, we were sad to leave, but happy to come back home to Drew.

One of our favorite things to do was go down to Kahala Beach after breakfast. Most of the time Lilly and I had the beach to ourselves, and it was so peaceful!

As you can see above, this part of the beach is rocky, so we would walk down to the nice smooth sand in front of the Kahala hotel. The beach is public property in Hawaii, so that was perfectly legal. I can't say the same for the following, but Lilly sure loved seeing the dolphins, turtles and fish!

Lilly loved standing on the shore and having the waves come and go over her feet.
She would say scream, "Come water, come!"

She also loved playing with the shovel and bucket and other sand toys that Tutu bought for her. . .

I could sit and check out this view for hours! (And I did.)
