August: The one with the Gramparents and Phoebe

In August we finished out our summer with a visit from Grammy and Grampy Wilson. We had a fabulous time showing them around our local Camas trails and downtown, as well as exploring some Portland classics, like the Rose garden, Arboretum, Powell's and Salt and Straw. We also booked an escape room, and while we didn't manage to finish, we had a great time trying!

Lily got her braces off and was rewarded with a caramel apple from her orthodontist. :)

I grew some things and made some things.

Drew helped the kids make some hyper-realistic fondant cakes per Henry's request.

Henry had Back to School night and met his new teacher, Mrs. V.

And Lily joined me for her first concert experience (that she will be able to remember)!
We had a fantastic night watching Phoebe Bridgers perform at McMenamins Edgefield.

The next morning was her 1st day of Middle School/6th grade orientation! She was/is so excited to be in middle school, and is loving organizing her locker, color-coding her planner, and catching the bus to school again.

Henry wishes summer was even longer, but still managed to have a great 1st day of 3rd grade.
He likes his new teacher, and is excited about their classroom economy where he gets to do jobs to earn "money." He said he got the best job because he gets to catch the elevator to take the lunch bag bucket to the cafeteria. :)

Farewell Summer and on to Fall!
