Lilly was very sad to say goodbye to Grandpa Tack today.
In fact, she started crying as soon as I told her he was leaving, and she really wanted to go with him. This is amazing, because the last couple times she saw him she was a little afraid. Not the case at all this time. As soon as he arrived she was excited to see him, and she started ordering him around immediately. He was a good sport and played along with all her silly games (which is probably why she loved him). Even sacred tasks like pushing her stroller, which are usually saved exclusively for mama, were assigned as "ba-pa's."
We had a wonderful time! Our only regrets were that Oma couldn't come with him and that he couldn't stay longer. . .
Grandpa arrived from Michigan Saturday night, and Lilly was really interested in his facial hair. It didn't take her long to add some accessories to his look, either.
She read him some stories before heading to bed.
Sunday night we drove to this little freeway bridge in Round Rock to see the bats.
It was around Lilly's bedtime, so she was already in her pajamas.

We got there just in time to see the first bats start flying out from under the bridge.
It's amazing how many of them can fit under there! They just keep coming and coming.
The pictures can't capture the frenetic movement and sound, video does a little better, but the smell is what was truly memorable. I think Batman should seriously think about using bat smell as a weapon.
Lilly just wanted the chocolate frosting. She must be a true Tack because the chocolate addiction is deeply embedded in her genes.
On the way home we stopped and picked up a new grill. We had to buy it in the box so we could strap it to the top of our little corolla. I'm sure we looked very classy. :)
Lilly had a great time playing with daddy's tools and "helping" put the grill together.
Tuesday morning we went to the All Abilities Park.
Lilly dumped a bunch of water on herself and got soaking wet. She tried to dump some on Grandpa, but luckily he moved a little faster than she did. Drew found it hilarious.
Time to go home and change. At least mommy had the foresight to leave her in her pajamas until after the park.
Then Drew's brother Terry and his family drove from San Antonio for lunch and to steal Grandpa away. Lilly loved their baby and said she wanted one. I told her I would work on it.
She tried to read a book to her, but the baby was more interested in touching Lilly's head and face. I told Lilly this and she said "oh" and then bent her head so the baby could reach it better! Later she kept trying to hold her and give her hugs, and she even wanted to change her diaper.
