5 months!

Lilly is 5 months old today! The time is really starting to fly by, and she is developing into such a sweet little girl. I am having a really hard time leaving her to go to work these days, but I am glad that she has a loving father and wonderful grandparents to take care of her while I'm away. And that I only have to be away one or two times a week.  :)

Lilly is about 17 lbs now and wearing 9-12 month size clothing. She is eating well from a spoon and seems to enjoy it more and more (we are enjoying her dirty diapers less and less). She has gotten into a fairly consistent schedule of eating/sleeping. We do breakfast around 9, lunch around 1, dinner around 5, and a breastfeed around 8:30. She takes two good naps and one evening catnap, and she sleeps from around 9 at night to 9 in the morning. She always rolls over and sleeps on her tummy. Sometimes she wakes up at 5:30 to eat, sometimes she doesn't. She's really happy most of the time and (usually) goes to sleep with very little fussiness.

All around she is a joyful addition to our family. We love all her noises and silly giggles. I have enjoyed leaving the room lately and coming back to find that she has rolled several times and is at the opposite side of the blanket from where I left her. She happily sits by herself and plays with her toys, but she loves to sing and talk and interact with people. She has definitely not figured out stranger danger yet--today at church she was practically climbing into the old guy next to me's lap. She is also loving getting a hold of anything in reach, and she's quick. I can only imagine how crazy my life is going to be when she starts crawling. . .walking. . . running. . . (Eek!) I'm not ready to think about that yet.

Lilly's favorite things right now:
  • walking around with assistance
  • curling up in a ball and sticking her butt in the air to roll from tummy to back
  • rolling from back to tummy as soon as she's in her crib
  • her feet
  • anyone else's feet
  • sweet potatoes
  • grabbing everything
  • cell phones
  • taking her pacifier out and sucking on the wrong end
  • sitting in her walker
  • NOT sitting in her bumbo
  • being sung to
  • meeting new people
  • being adored by her parents

  1. she is SO adorable! I love her smile, and how happy she seems. I can't believe how big she is - she has a few pounds on Abigail. One of these times I'm down I'll have to swing by for a visit.
