Sew Sew

I thought a car seat cover/canopy would come in handy, mostly so we can go to church and other gatherings and keep the baby safe from all the nice people who want to touch her. She is after all being born just in time for flu and RSV season. After looking around at the ones for sale, I decided I couldn't justify spending $40-$50 on something I could probably make. I went looking for fabric and couldn't decide on anything, but luckily I have a very supportive husband. Drew went to Quilter's Haven in Bountiful with me and provided moral support. They have super cute fabric, and it all happened to be on sale for the week. I'm not usually drawn to red, but I loved all the other colors this print incorporated. I got the last yard of it. I had thought about putting bows on the handles, but big buttons were more my style and making my own cover buttons turned out to be really awesome. They are one-of-a-kind. So is this car seat canopy.

Here's a before shot of all the supplies I purchased. I love the bright colors and the contrast between the yellow fabric and the red fabric

I think the buttons are my very favorite part. I loved being able to incorporate the fabric from the reverse side. I also like that they are cute without being too frilly. I think it fits the fabric style better.

Now I just have to wait 10 more wks to use it. . .
